Most smart lock failures are mechanical, not digital: a misaligned strike makes the motor stall and drains batteries in weeks. We check door swing, backset, and bore, adjust the strike, then install and configure the lock.

Why does my smart lock keep draining batteries?
Because the bolt is fighting a misaligned strike. Every lock cycle stalls the motor at full current, which burns a set of batteries in weeks. Correcting the strike plate and latch alignment usually restores normal battery life of six months to a year.
Do smart locks still work if the internet goes down?
Yes. Keypad codes and the physical key work entirely on the lock itself. Only remote features — unlocking from your phone away from home and access notifications — pause until the connection returns.
Can all my doors use the same physical key?
Yes. We rekey the smart lock cylinders so a single backup key opens every exterior door, which matters the day a battery dies or a guest gets locked out.
Are smart locks safe for a short-term rental?
They are safer than a lockbox. Each booking gets a code that activates at check-in and expires at checkout, with an access log showing exactly when it was used, and no key ever leaves the property.
How much does smart lock installation cost?
A single front-door lock is $149 in labor, and three exterior doors keyed alike is $399. Rental packages with expiring code management are $549. Locks are supplied at retail price or you can provide your own.
